first judges commentsFor those wanting to indulge in a true fine dining experience in regional Victoria a night at the Vue Grand in Queenscliff is compulsory. The word exceptional describes all aspects of the evening.

The excellent, modern Australian menu focusing on regional produce drives the experience. Entree, main and desserts are perfectly cooked and presentation is exemplary.

Everything detail was good. The plates has been heated which meant the food temperature remained warm while being consumed (the waitress cautioned us on this). All dishes were fabulous. Ingredients fresh, fish amazing, reductions intense yet complimentary, presentation perfect, taste combinations imaginative and cohesive, local ingredients embraced and identified on the menu.  Even the samphire garnish on the Bouillabaisse was innovative!

The wine list is extensive offering a variety of styles, prices and regions from around the globe. An extensive wine list with regional wines interspersed with well know quality wines from other wine districts in Australia, NZ and France. Magnums plus a wide range of celebratory champagnes and other styles. Beer drinkers will also be spoilt for choice with a large selection of local beers to sample.

Service was exemplary from the initial phone call to reserve a table to opening the large dining room doors on our departure (for all customers). Our waitress was attentive, courteous, dignified, informative and knowledgeable. A true professional who contributed to our entire Vue Grand experience.

Combine excellent food, excellent wine and professional staff and you create one of those unique occasions that you can savour for a very long time.
